Black ★ Rock Shooter – 1/8 – Original Ver.

Today a review of an amazing figure from Good Smile Company – Black ★ Rock Shooter – 1/8 – Original Ver.

I was eager to buy this figure for a long long time, but, as usual, it wasn’t that easy. Finally I found it for a nice price from a private seller and bought it immediately!
When I eventually got it I was terrified. Some parts of her hair were broken off… I’m just not lucky with my most wanted fifures I guess.

I glued them together, but some parts just couldn’t be saved 😦 And this is the outcome:

Fortunately it’s not that visible from a small distance, but still…

But all in all I shouldn’t be prejudiced by that since it’s not the companys fault. It’s always a risk by the shipping.
So now onto the main part so the assessment of the GSC’s doing.

The sculpt is really impressive, but because of it some parts are fragile and…well you know the rest 🙂 BRS’ posing is so dynamic! The windblown hair, fluttering coat, the blue fame on her eye, the fissured base. Everything makes this figure stunning! The details are incredible. There is nothing more than that to say about the painting. It’s just perfect.
But, before you can sit and admire the figure, you’ll have to somehow put the chain in the right place. Believe me it’s the most horrible thing to do! I used this tutorial to find out how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyLrC7AGenM
Now I do everything so that it doesn’t come off, but when it does…:)

Now have a look at some details:

I think there’s nothing more to add. The figure would get 10/10 if the chain was easier to put on. Because of that I give BRS 9/10 and strongly recommend it to everyone!

Happy Easter!

Insane Black Rock Shooter nendoroid #253

Hello again!

Today’s review : Insane Black Rock Shooter!

I_Kyubey1340258889

This nendoroid was the GSC Shop Exclusive for Wonder Festival in 2012. It is also a nendoroid that was made with some additional joints to allow wider movement range.

The box:

And what we get inside:

In general IBRS comes with many additional parts like additional stand for the cannon, hands/legs, flame part, chain, cannon and her Blade Claw.

The optional face doesn’t differ very much from the main one (her eyes are supposed to be wide open there I guess).

To put on the flame part the only thing you have to do is to take off her bangs and attach it there

Her ponytails are movable (you have to remove the cap (?) to change faces)DSC00019

There’s a spot on her back to attach the chain (generally it’s a pain in the a** but still BRS looks cool with it ;P)

Some more details:

This nendoroid is a very good one. It’s painted nicely and the details are great. Her armor and weapons look realistic because of some a=scratches added with silver paint – I really like it. Thanks to the jonts there are much more ways of posing than in other nendoroids. The parts tend to fall off easily though, especially her cannon (well it is preaty heavy). The two faces are nice, but don’t vary much. What I understand but don’t like is the base. It’s a standard nendoroid base these days, but I think it should be similar to other nendos’ bases from this anime.

Strength and Dead Master for comparison

Still it’s a nendo worth buying so go ahead 😀

Have a nice week!

Nendoroid petit Mato & Yomi set + how I store figure parts and boxes.

Hello there!

Today I want to write something about my nendoroid petit set from Good Smile Company.

Again, the characters are from Black Rock Shooter series and they are two main characters there-Mato Kuroi and Yomi Takanashi.

Some pictures of the box and the contents.

As you can see there are two kinds of standing base. One is a part of road Mato and Yomi were walking through in anime and the other are simple transparent stands. I actually use those transparent stands.

Yomi has no movable parts except for her head, but Mato has movable hands, bag, head and pigtails.

Image

There’s not much to say about these two figures. There are no serious painting problems or parts that fall off easily. Both girls are about 6cm tall and really cute ^^ I wish there were some scale figures of those two in this form.

And now some more pictures!

Now let’s proceed to the second part of this post 🙂 I just wanted to show you how I store my figure parts and figure boxes.

For collectors everything is important so I try to take good care of boxes as well. They are put on the bottom of my bookshelf (mostly mangashelf to be more precise ;P) wrapped up in bubble.

Image

As for figure parts I bought a box used to store fish hooks in a fishing shop. Inside walls are movable so you can change capacity of each inside part.

So that’s all for today ^^ Thanks a lot for reading my blog!

Dead Master nendoroid #128

Today I’m gonna review my Dead Master nendoroid.

As you can see I own quite a lot figures from this anime ^^

I don’t really like the anime itself, but I just love the character designs!

Stock photo:

The base is completely different than on stock photos, but I like it more.

It’s not a simple transparent base, but it’s unique for this nendoroid series.

So here are some of my photos. Box:

And the contents. Dead Master comes with 4 different faces, lots of hands and legs and other accessories like her scythe, wings and two skulls.

Base and additional base parts to attach the skulls:

All parts fit, DM has no problems with holding her scythe, although it’s a bit heavy.

I couldn’t observe any problems while posing her in various ways. It’s quite easy to pose her in a way shown in the stock pictures.

I think this nendoroid is worth buying and it’s really cute, don’t you think? 🙂

Black Gold Saw figma 168

Hi there!

I wanted to start with a review of some older figures I own, but I just got the new Max Factory figma of Black Gold Saw from Black Rock Shooter animation!
I’ve been waiting for it since January so I’m really happy I already got it!
I wish I could say that BGS is perfect…unfortunately she isn’t, but let’s begin with all the cool things about her 🙂

I ordered it from CDjapan. I like this site, because it’s really reliable and you don’t have to worry, that anythig will go wrong with your order.

The figure arrived carefully packed, but I will omit the opening of the box 😉
So that’s what was inside:

My beloved Black Gold Saw!
Some photos of the box:

I like it’s design. Boxes made to Black Rock Shooter figmas look really nice 🙂
Now to the content:
Image
I thought: Oh my God it’s really here!!!
Don’t laugh! I’ve been waiting for it since long ago! I’m a great Black Gold Saw fan and it was hard to get the older version for an acceptable price :/

Looking at the content it seems that there’re many accessories, but don’t get fooled by that. Most figmas have additional hands in a separate packing together with the base. Since BGS has huge hands they were treated as the accessories other figmas have.
There are two different faces and of course her amazing Kingsaw! Be careful! It’s really sharp 😀
Image
Image
Image
The thing that compensates for the lack of accessories is the figure’s height. It’s much bigger than other figmas. I made a photo to show you the difference:
Image
It’s huge, isn’t it? And looks amazing!
And now Black Gold Saw herself!
Image
Image
Her hair is also movable.

Image

And now first uncool things I noticed. Two white spots on her jacket and a black one on her butt :

Image
Image
With those exceptions the figure is painted and sculpted nicely and very detailed.

Problems began when I started to change the parts and tried to pose her in few ways.
First of all the stand keeps falling off T____T It makes me crazy!!!
The next thing is also about the stand. Thanks god the hair is movable, otherwise it would be impossible to attach it to the figure. It leads to the next problems. The hair can’t be moved down again and you almost can’t move BGS’s head.
The figure seemed to be very movable, but the stand makes it very hard or even impossible to pose her (even according to the pictures on the box). Most figmas can’t look up after attaching the stand, but in case of BGS it’s terribly irritating since it’s another thing that hinders the posing :/
Image
Image
And last but not least…she can’t hold the Kingsaw correctly! It’s impossible to attach it so that it won’t move and fall down (usually together with her hand). I made a short film showing that, but I’m still new here so I can’t figure out how to put it here 😛 I’ll try to post it separately.

After about 20 minutes I finally posed BGS in a way I quite like, but it was very very hard >< The stand kept falling off, the saw kept falling off, the hand holding it too. But in the end I’m happy that I bought it. At least it looks amazing 🙂

Thanks for your attention! 🙂
