Wonfes 2017 Summer

Hello there!

Unfortunately I don’t have much time to post more reviews, but I’ll try to get to it soon.

For now some of Wonfes ups and downs for me!

Twice a year every figure collector holds his breath and awaints the newest announcements. One of these days has come today.

I must say, that there aren’t many announcements this time that made me really excited. But there are figures that took me by surprise and figures that completely destroyed my hopes.

I’m not surprised that this Wonfes is too dominated by Fate series. GSC, MF, ALter and more announced tons of Fate figures. Other than that there’s a lot of KanColle (again), Saekano, tons of new Mikus and of course Touken Ranbu. Fortunately the companies didn’t forget about less popular series.

As every top list you can find on this blog this one is also a subjective choice of mine.

Let’s start with the very end of my tops

11# Odin Sphere – Mercedes (Phat! Company)

I just love these Phat’s parforms. They are so cute I can’t say no to them!

10# Oikawa Tooru Unifor Ver. nendoroid

Tooru-chan striking again!

9# Slayers -Lina nendoroid

Finally some love to one of my beloved childhood series!

8# Nier Automata – YorHa (Square Enix/Flare)

Finally SE lets someone else make their figures. Flare is a great choice here!

7# D.Gray-Man – Kanda Yuu (Aniplex)

Another Aniplex exclusive coming! They really know how to get my money.

6# Fate/Grand Order – Ishtar (Aniplex)

And again exclusive. Announced some time ago and finally with a prototype! I know I won’t get her, additional costs like shipping and customs would make me a beggar. Still she looks amazing!

5# Kakegurui – Jabami Yumeko (Kotobukiya)

An amazing looking prototype. I got hooked on the anime, it’s really exciting (a bit strange though) so I’m happy to see a fabolous Yumeko so soon.

4# Fate/Grand Order – Lancer (Orange Rouge)

Finally a proper scale of the second best servant ever ❤

#3 Odin Sphere – Gwendolyn (aquamarine)

The best Gwen so far. The pose is just awesome, so dynamic! Can’t wait to see the painted prototype. Do your best Aquamarine!

#2 Fate/Stay Night – Matou Sakura (Aniplex)

Please Aniplex stop…you just know that I love kimonos, don’t you?

1# Fate/Grand Order – Gilgamesh (Myethos)

Ok, Myethos wins the whole show. The most  exciting piece of this Wonfes’!
Myethos is a chinese company, so most of their products aren’t on the MFC database, but they are a really fascinating company. Their projects are really creative and the quality is also very good. I think you could compare them with Kotobukiya. Anyways, just take my money Myethos!

But unfortunately there are some complete failures too. Actually I think this is the first time ever I felt so dissappointed with Wonfes’ announcements

A super Sexy Gilgamesh, that was announced last year I suppose, finally gets a paited prototype! Just take my mo….Uhm…..what the hell is this?!

And a figure that I got just too excited about and that is the biggest let down ever.

I love Code Geass and C.C. is my holy waifu, so I was really happy about getting a proper figure with some lovely pose from the anime…Well, MegaHouse crushed all my hopes. I know that boobs sell the best, but making a character look secy at a push is just not my taste. MH tends to do that too often lately. Just a big NO!

In the end there’s nothing too unexpected about this WF edition. But out of all the figures announced I was able to find the ones I really love. Fortunately not too many, my wallet is still safe!

Hope you also found some exciting figures this time!

Gundam UC – Audrey Burne – 1/8 scale

Hello everyone!

Today I want to review my holiest grail ever! The main (and the best) character from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn – Audrey Burne, or rather Princess Mineva Lao Zabi. I won’t spoil the fun of watching the series so let’s stop the introduction at that. I bought her at Mandarake, for a quite decent price, incl shipping she cost me 10k yen. I was looking for her for around a year and I’m so glad I finally got her. She’s manufactured by Alpha x Omega – a collaboration of MegaHouse and Alter, which is rather surprising since Alter is like a guru in figure manufacturing and MegaHouse, whose quality is decent, but can’t even be compared to Alter’s. Let’s see what we get out of this collab!

The box is rather simple, but the colors are nice.

She comes with two bodies, two haros and two pegs to attach them.

The base is transparent and blue with Gundam UC logo on it. Audrey is attached with one leg, but the figure is very stable, or rather was because I was stupid enough to break one of the two pegs while changing the bodies :v Still, even with one peg she is quite stable.

I like figures with more than one display option, but sometimes the parts aren’t easy to change, or you can’t remove them at all. This figure has absolutely no issues with that.

The pose is just beautiful. Audrey looks so delicate and looks like she’s floating in the air.

The details are just like expected of Alter. Everything from the sculpt to the painting is just perfect. At least about Audrey, Haros aren’t this perfect, but not bad at all. Let’s take a look at them first.

The black lines are uneven and there’s almost no shading. But Haro is not so important for me.

Audrey is soo beautiful. I love her the most of all my figures.

Aaaah, I love everything about her. Her face is really beautiful. It was definitely worth waiting so long to get her. I must say, this is probably the first fugure I was ready to really overpay for. I really hope there’ll be more decent Gundam UC figures in the future, I especially wait for Banagher. As for Audrey, I give her 10/10, she definitely deserves it.

Marida Cruz – Excellent Model RAHDXG.A.NEO

Hello, it’s been a while!

Since my beloved Gundam Unicorn got TV anime this year, I thought of reviewing a figure from this series. And so let’s have look at Marida Cruz by MegaHouse. It took me a while to get her. When she was up in amiami’s pre-owned section for a decent price I had another expenses and I decided to buy her later. Unfortunately her price went up quite a bit and I wasn’t very happy with it so again I decided to wait. After some unsuccessful orders at Mandarake (they got cancelled every time) I found this figure for satisfying price and placed an order with little hope to really get the figure. I was pretty sure I would get a cancellation e-mail, but to my huge surprise I got a payment request! And so Marida was my very first successful Mandarake order. Since then none of my orders was cancelled so I guess my bad luck ended. Before I get to the review I want to share some thoughts about Mandarake services.

As mentioned I wasn’t very lucky with ordering from this shop and so my impression was quite bad. I think it’s really unfair to online customers that the status of the items isn’t up to date. There is very little chance to find an item sold in online store only. Most items are sold in one of Mandarake shops in Japan. I’ve ordered from several shops already and one thing that angers me are the shipping methods. Each shop has it’s own shipping policy. Some offer various shipping methods and even if not all are stated they offer you the cheapest possible shipping and you can chose the one you want or they will accept if you ask for another method. Other ship only with EMS and won’t agree to change to other methods even if you send hundred mails… In terms of shipping I like AmiAmi much more. AmiAmi also has better descriptions.  I remember paying over 3k yen for a tiny and pretty light package, because they didin’t agree to ship with other method than SAL parcel (which AA uses for oversized or heavy pieces) or EMS. Mandarake’s are sometimes difficult to understand and not always accurate. Sometimes I feel like I’m taking up a risk with purchasing product with vague description. Their prices are usually cheaper though. All in all I’m quite satisfied with Mandarake services. I’m not buying from them very often, but I cannot complain about their customer service or packaging.

OK let’s come back to the main topic. After few weeks I got my very first package from Mandarake. The inside was secured with paper and the figure additionaly with bubble wrap.

The box was marked as damaged, but I didn’t notice any damages at all. The box design isn’t very interesting, but it’s not the box that truly matters.

The base is dark-blue and quite simple. There’s only a Gundam UC logo on it.

There are two other parts that you have to attach on your own.

Putting the helmet in her hand was really hard. It’s not stable and falls off easily.

The details aren’t stunning, but I think they are good enough for the price. I like the sculpt and Marida’s face. The paint job is nice, the shading is quite good too. I think it’s a decent figure for the price and a great one for every Gundam UC fan. I’m really happy I finally bought her and I’m sure you will too be happy with this figure!

Sayla Mass by Megahouse

Hello again!

We’re going into space today!  I was really happy when MegaHouse announced this figure. Although it took me some time to start watching the Gundam series. I’m glad I finally decided to try, because I must admit most seasons are a masterpiece. Although the oldest series was broadcasted in the late 80s the animation and art are stunning. Sayla shows up in few Gundam seasons and movies and is one of the most interesting and most important characters throughout the series. I won’t spoil you her past, you should find out by yourselves. I’m happy MH started to make Gundam characters and especially from older series.

Anyway, since I’m not 100% sure of MegaHouse quality I waited for the release and user’s pictures. Then I ordered her immidiately. I recieved the package a few weeks later.

MegaHouse usually makes figures with some spare parts so there are various ways to display your scales. Sayla comes with two guns, an arm to hold them and an additional head. The expressions are so similar, that it’s hard to tell if they really differ at all…
The figure is 21cm tall.

The default pose:

Both expressions:

All parts fit so there’s no problem with changing them

You can also put the guns in the other hand.

And some close up on the details:

What I really like about this figure is the shading. MH did a great job here, what I didn’t expect. I can recommend getting this figure to any Gudam fan. I’m sure everyone will be happy with it.

Happy Easter!

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 – 5 reviews!

Welcome again!

Another review today and it’s gonna be picture heavy!
First of all sorry for low quality pictures, but because of the bad weather outside I somehow couldn’t get it better 😦

I’m going to review my latest loot. 5 figures from a great anime Space Battleship Yamato 2199 by MegaHouse.
MegaHouse released a whole bunch of Yamato figures. Excluding the captain all of them are woman characters so the series was named “Yamato Girls Collection”. As said there is one exeption and a promising name “Yamato Guys Collection”, which unfortunately consists of one guy only. I wonder if there’s a point in hoping for more, but it’s good they at least decided to make captain Okita. It’s such an important and amazing character, that not making him would be a great mistake. Still let’s not lose hope for more guys!
So the figures I bought are:

~Okita Juuzo

~Harada Makoto

~Misaki Yuria

~Niimi Kaoru

~Melda Dietz

So here we go! I ordered all figures from a private seller on myfigurecollection.net

Boxes arrived in good condition, there are some minor damages due to shipping.

Let’s start with the captain – Okita Juuzo.
First thing I thought- he’s heavy! Definitely the heaviest in the loot. But he’s a man so no wonder ;P
This is what we get:

Adittional right arm, left hand to hold a book and a photograph that captain used to look at ( so sad ;( ).
Regarding the book…you have to cut it out of the box :/ I won’t do it, since the box is also important to some collectors (me for example) and that could decrease the value of the figure. Dear Megahouse, it wouldn’t hurt your expenses if you gave us a separate piece of paper…

The figure is 22cm high (1/8 scale). I think it’s great. I really respect this character and getting him was a must.

IMG_2807 IMG_2814

If you already own some MegaHouse figures you know they’re not masters of shading :p But I thing they did a good paint job here. It’s not the highest level, but the figure looks great in my opinion.
Some details:

IMG_2808 IMG_2809 IMG_2810 IMG_2811 IMG_2812 IMG_2813

And trying out different parts. As you can see the posing isn’t that much different, but still you have some other options of displaying the figure.

IMG_2816 IMG_2817

9/10 for me 🙂

Next figure is Harada Makoto. The most positive character in the series! The truth is at first I only wanted to buy Harada only, but the more I searched for her in different shops, the more tempted I was to buy the set from this one seller. After giving some thought into it I decided for this option and I absolutely don’t regret this choice! But let’s move on to the figure.

I was kinda hoping for removable head parts, but unfortunately it’s not possible. That would give us even more posing options. And so we get two body parts, sake bottle and the bottle stand. She’s 22cm high and floating in the air~~~.

IMG_2789 IMG_2798

Changing the upper body is very easy. You just have to put on the one you like better.

Unfortunately there are some visible gaps between the bottom and the upper part.

IMG_2797 IMG_2800 IMG_2876

More details:

IMG_2791 IMG_2793 IMG_2794 IMG_2799

Gosh! Bothe her expressions are so cute! I really love both posing options. It’s the first figure I’d love to get a spare of, just to display both next to each other.

IMG_2795 IMG_2873

And this is the second posing option

IMG_2872 IMG_2875

I still can’t decide which I like more, but for now I chose the first one. I think the shading here is also nice, especially the hair. And this sculpt! All Yamato girls are so lovely sculpted (especially their butts ;P).

The next lady is Misaki Yuria. This figure is 18cm high.

There are quite many parts to choose from. This figure costs around 1500 yen for an used one. For that price, so many parts. Love it. So we get right arm holding papers, left hand holding a bottle and left hand holding a teddy bear. The only thing I don’t like so much is the base colour, but it’s not that bad either.

IMG_2767 IMG_2773

Unfortunatley I couldn’t get the right arm off even using some more strenght. Not that I wanted to pose her that way, but it’s still frustrating when you can’t even try it out. So the details:

IMG_2768 IMG_2770 IMG_2771 IMG_2772IMG_2774 IMG_2775 IMG_2776 IMG_2777IMG_2780 IMG_2781 IMG_2785 IMG_2786 IMG_2783 IMG_2805 IMG_2806

Not much shading here, but the sculpt is again lovely.
I think all Misaki’s poses are cute. She’s another charming character in the series. I’ll have to try again to remove her right arm, I just can’t get it out of my head 😀

IMG_2782 IMG_2784

I think noone should have any doubts about buying her. She costs as much as the prize figures and her quality is not even comparable to these. She’s gorgeous, has lots of parts and is cute. That should be more than enough reason to buy her even if you don’t know the anime.

Next in the line up is Niimi Kaoru.

I don’t particularly like this character, but who cares. I must catch them all! :p

Niimi measures 20cm. Her base is a bit more complicated than of other figures in this series. It’s a metal railing, here made of plastic of course. She comes with some nice accessories like: tablet, stylus pen, arm holding the railing and another arm holding the glasses.

IMG_2860 IMG_2854 IMG_2853

IMG_2857 IMG_2858 IMG_2859 IMG_2861 IMG_2862 IMG_2863

Changing parts is very simple and everything fits. But Niimi doesn’t even touch her glasses what she’s supposed to do. But still looks good.

The last lady is not directly from the Yamato crew. It’s Melda Dietz.

I really got attracted to that figure. Her pose is quite unique and there are so many display options!
Melda is 20cm high.

IMG_2819 IMG_2822 IMG_2825

The paint job is really nice and used paint is a little glossy.
I was worried that the helmet would fall off easily, but there’s a special part holding it to the railing.

IMG_2820 IMG_2821

IMG_2823 IMG_2824 IMG_2828 IMG_2830

IMG_2846 IMG_2847 IMG_2848 IMG_2849

Changing her face is a bit similar to the way you do it with nendoroids.

The cup with ice cream doesn’t fall off thanks to that:

Be careful with the spoon. It’s not attached to the hand in any way so it might fall and get lost since it’s very small.
Now I think I like Melda the most from all five. She’s very detailed, neatly done and her pose is great too.

All figure have something that catches your attention. They’re beautifully sculpted and rich in accessories. Most of them don’t cost so much anymore. Except for limited editions you can get most of them for 4-6k yen so not that bad.
I hope to get more Yamato girls in the future to complete this collection. I’m sure the rest is also worth buying.

Good night!
